People seek counseling for a wide variety of reasons. Some people are looking to make a life change. Others are looking to explore feelings or deal with challenges. Some concerns commonly addressed in therapy are: Depression, Anxiety, Stress, Grief, Loss, Anger, Abuse, and Substance Abuse.
When seeking a therapist, consider a combination of these factors: the Therapist qualifications and experience, Personality fit between you and the Therapist, Feelings of trust and safety, and the Limitations of confidentiality.
Yes. The Therapist at Novo Counseling has experience working with many different social/personal concerns and mental health diagnoses. Further, the Therapist tracks therapeutic outcomes to monitor client progress. The professionals at Novo Counseling work to ensure a high standard of care for all clients. If your Therapist is not fully qualified to address your concerns, she will work to find a colleague who meets your needs.
Novo Counseling offers "Therapist Shopping Appointments" and encourage people to shop with other therapists too, as it supports intelligent consumerism.
A "Therapist Shopping Appointment" is a 20 minute, no pressure, face-to-face meeting between the potential client and the therapist with NO FEE. This meeting provides the opportunity for both client and therapist to test the fit of the potential "working relationship", and for the client to learn about Novo Counseling's approach, philosophies and business practices. During this meeting, there will be no gathering of personal information about the potential client, no notes taken and no therapy given.
