Gay, Lesbian & Bisexual

Gay, lesbian, and bisexual individuals experience the same difficulties in life as heterosexual individuals. Sexual orientation does not affect a person's mental health. Regardless of sexual orientation, many people benefit from professional help when dealing with difficult issues such as:

bullet Depression
bullet Anxiety
bullet Relationships
bullet Stress
bullet Grief
bullet Substance Abuse
bullet Self-Esteem

In addition to the above concerns, there are a few issues that are more specific to gay, lesbian, and bisexual individuals. While not all homosexual people will have these concerns, they are not uncommon:

bullet Clarifying feelings about sexual orientation
bullet Coming out
bullet Dealing with prejudice

It is important to emphasize that it is normal and healthy to be gay, lesbian, or bisexual. Through Novo Counseling, I have experience working with members of the gay, lesbian, and bisexual community. NovoCounseling is a member of the American Counseling Association with division membership in the Association for Gay, Lesbian, and Bisexual Issues in Counseling. I embrace diversity, working with each individual from his or her unique perspective.
