People seek counseling for a wide variety of reasons. Some people are looking to make a life change. Others are looking to explore feelings or deal with challenges. Some concerns commonly addressed in therapy are: depression, anxiety, stress, grief, loss, anger, abuse, and substance abuse.
When seeking a therapist, consider a combination of these factors: the therapist qualifications and experience, personality fit between you and the therapist, feelings of trust and safety, and the limitations of confidentiality.
Yes. Our therapists have experience working with many different social/personal/professional concerns and mental health diagnoses. As professionals, we work to ensure the highest standard of care for you. If your therapist is not fully qualified to address your concerns, she will work to find a colleague who meets your needs.
At Novo Counseling you do not need to meet the criteria for a mental health diagnosis to receive services. In fact, many individuals who seek out counseling do so to maintain their emotional wellness and better navigate life’s challenges. Private pay is available for those who are underinsured, uninsured or choose to further protect their privacy and/or avoid a mental health label when the criteria for one is not present.
