Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender & Questioning

Lesbian, gay and bisexual individuals experience the same difficulties in life as heterosexual individuals. Sexual orientation and gender identity disorder are not considered mental illnesses.

Regardless of sexual orientation, many people benefit from professional help when dealing with difficult issues such as:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Domestic Violence
  • Relationships
  • Stress
  • Grief
  • Substance Abuse
  • Self-Esteem

LGBTQ-Specific Concerns Addressed

Below are a few issues that are specific to the LGBTQ community. While not all individuals in the LGBTQ community will have these concerns, they are not uncommon:

  • Gender identity issues
  • Clarifying feelings about sexual orientation
  • Coming out
  • Sexual orientation and/or transgender discrimination
  • Sexual orientation and/or gender identity discrimination
